Release and delivery plan

  1. Goals

The release and delivery planning process step involves coordinating the release of the product increment to stakeholders.

  1. Scope

Working instruction covers enterprise application employees in Europe.

3. Responsibility

  • EA manager: Communicates with the stakeholders about the release of the product.

  • Product owner: Brainstorms about the delivery plan.

  • Development team: Develops the delivery plan.

  1. Process steps

1. Review the product backlog: This is the beginning step of the process. The items from the product backlog should be reviewed so that the requirements have been completed and prioritized for the release. 2. Evaluate the sprint goals: The team should check the sprint goals whether they are finished in this current release. 3. Prioritize the scope for the release: The product owner and the development team should collaborate with the stakeholders to prioritize the backlog items based on business value and customer needs. And this will define the scope of the release including the most important features and user stories. 4. Identify and manage risks: It is good practice to identify potential risks or challenges that may impact the release.

  1. Communicate with the stakeholders: Engage with stakeholders, such as managers, employees, and customer representatives to communicate the release plan. Also, feedback should be gathered to ensure alignment with their expectations.

  2. Prepare the delivery plan: Define the deployment strategy and plan for the release. This may involve coordinating with stakeholders, the operation and infrastructure team, including any necessary environment setups and configuration changes.

  3. Evaluate and Release: Once the release is live, evaluate its performance against the defined sprint goals and success criteria. Analyze user feedback and customer satisfaction to identify areas of improvement.
