Risk assessment is the process of finding potential threats to a company's capacity to do business. These analyses assist in identifying these inherent company risks and offer steps, procedures, and controls to reduce their negative effects on daily operations.

Regarding ISO 27001, risk assessment is an important process to make sure that the company has procedures for minimizing the risks.
